National Institute of Technology, Meghalaya Announces Recruitment 2014 for Trainee Teachers (10 Vacancies)

The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Govt. of India has launched a Trainee Teacher scheme. To appoint Trainee Teachers (TT) on contractual basis at National Institutes of Technology (NIT) Meghalaya subject to enrollment of the Candidates in Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) for M. Tech and Ph. D programme. Eligible Engineering Candidates are required to apply on or before 19th May 2014.

Mode of Delivery

The applicant have Part-time & Virtual mode with one semester full time in an IIT.

Teaching Assignments at parent NIT

The teaching assignment will comprise of 12 – 14 hrs per week Tutorial, laboratory, project work for initial 1-2 years, subsequently sharing and finally to teaching full course.

Duration of M. Tech & Ph. D Programme

Maximum 8 years

Financial support/ Salary

Tuition fee as charged by the concerned IIT and monthly consolidated salary paid to TT to be funded by MHRD under this scheme.

Employment

After successful completion of the PhD from IIT, the TT will be absorbed as an Assistant Professor in that NIT in regular scale with all the associated benefits and services rendered as trainee will be counted for various benefits admissible to employees of NITs.

Educational Qualifications

Candidates having completed BE/ B. Tech from a Centrally Funded Technical Institution (CFTI) within the top 15% as Trainee Teacher. Candidates within top 15% in other AICTE recognized institutions and having valid GATE score are also eligible for the position. Candidates likely to complete their BE/ B. Tech by June 2014 may also apply.

Application Fee

Applicant must enclose a non-refundable application fee of Rs. 500/- (Rupees Five hundred only) (Rs.250/- (Rupees Two hundred and fifty) only for SC/ST/PWD candidates) in the form of Demand Draft only drawn on any nationalized bank in favour of National Institute of Technology, Meghalaya, payable at Shillong. Applicant must write his / her name, address and the position applied for on the back side of the bank draft.

Educational Qualification:

Selection Criteria:

The applications of the candidates would be shortlisted on the basis of eligibility conditions and thereafter the candidates will be called for interview by the Selection / Expert Committee. The Expert/ Selection Committee will select the candidates on the basis of their professional ability.

General Rules:

1. The selected candidates would be assigned the work, which is normally assigned to an APP, including appearing in Metropolitan Magistrate courts anywhere in Govt. of NCT of Delhi for defending the State, in criminal matters/cases, teach law in Police Training College or any other institution/ organization and give advice to police in criminal cases / maintain record/ statistical information of criminal cases pending in MM courts.
2. In special cases, the selected candidates can be assigned duty outside Delhi with special permission.
3. The selected candidates shall be eligible for leave of 15 days in a year on valid medical / other grounds. No other leave will be admissible to the selected candidates.
4. The selected candidates shall have no right of private practice under any circumstances.
5. The selected candidates shall be required to maintain discipline and absolute integrity in accordance with CCS (Conduct) Rules, 1964.
6. Further, the character and antecedents of selected candidates shall be verified and they shall be medically examined and if anything adverse is found in their report, their candidature will be cancelled.
