This railway has become operational from 1st of April, 2003 with its head quarter at Hubli in the state of Karnataka. The zone encompasses railway routes passing through Karnataka and parts of Tamilnadu, Andhra Pradesh, Goa & Maharashtra. South Western Railway has given a notification for the recruitment of 333 Act Apprentice posts in Carriage Repair Workshop, South Western Railway. Eligible candidates may send their applications on or before 10-05-2014 by 17.00 hrs. Name of the Posts: Act Apprentice (Total – 333) 1. Fitter: 178 Posts Age Limit: Candidates' age should be above 15 years and below 24 years as on 11-04-2014. The upper age relaxation is 05 years for SC/ ST and 03 years for OBC candidates. Educational Qualification: Candidates must possess Matriculation and I.T.I certificate affiliated to NCVT/ SCVT is compulsory in relevant trade and should be registered with local employment exchange. Selection Process: Candidates will be selected based on percentage of marks obtained in Metric or 10th standard in 10+2 examination system.
