Indian Navy Announces Recruitment 2014 for the post of Sailors for Senior Secondary Recruits

The Indian Navy is the naval branch of the armed forces of India. The President of India serves as the Commander-in-Chief of the Navy. The primary objective of the navy is to secure national maritime borders.

Emoluments:

At the preliminary stage of training, all shortlisted candidates will be remunerated with a stipend worth Rs.5700/- on monthly basis, whereas on achievement of this preliminary stage of training, they will be recruited at a pay scale of Rs.5200-20200/- on a monthly basis. Apart from this, they will also be receiving a GP amounting to Rs.2000/- with additional MSP of Rs.2000/- and DA.

Selection Process:

The selection process of the concerned recruitment requires the appearance and qualification of candidates in the following tests:

  • Written Test held in two parts: Objective Test and Descriptive Test and Group Discussion & Interview respectively.
  • The Objective Test will consist of questions on the following main topics: English Language (50 Marks), General Awareness, Marketing and Computers (50 Marks), DI and Analysis (50 Marks) and Reasoning (50 Marks) to be solved in two hours.
  • The Description Test will consist of English Language based descriptive questions like Comprehension, Short Precise, Letter Writing and Essay respectively to be solved in one hour carrying 50 Marks in total for this section.
  • There will be negative marks for wrong answers in the Objective tests. 1/4th mark will be deducted for each wrong answer. Candidates will have to pass in each of the objective tests.
  • Candidates qualified in the test will be placed according to their marks in descending order in respective categories. Depending upon the number of vacancies only certain number of candidates from amongst those who qualify by ranking high enough in the merit will be called for interview in the ratio of maximum 3 candidates for each vacancy.

Pre Exam Training:

SBI may arrange pre-examination training at certain centers for SC/ST/XS/Religious Minority Community candidates in consonance with the guidelines issued by Government of India.

Application Cost:

The payment of application fee can be done through online (Internet Banking/Master/Visa/Debit or Card) or offline (challan form). Through challan form, candidates can pay fee in any of the State Bank of India branches across country. The amount of application fee to be paid by different categories is given below:

1. General & Other Backward Class: INR 450
2. Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Ex-servicemen and PWD: INR 100/-
